For my entire life, art has been my passion and work. I have always looked to nature as a source of inspiration.

In my work, I am concerned with portraying relationships between color, shapes, and rhythms. I love painting “plein-air”, out on location, and I use that experience along with photographs to inspire my work in my studio.

I strive for good composition, looking for shapes and varying my edges in defining my space. I utilize texture in my work so that the character of the paint is also perceived. There is a wonderful challenge in painting in a large format and creating a new experience for the viewer. I enjoy working in oil, pastel, and watercolor, interchanging mediums to keep my work fresh and vibrant. By sharing my craft as a teacher, I continue to grow as an artist.
